Well, it's done, a piece of my life was taken from me this evening. The long running hbo show, The Sopranos has ended. A bittersweet ending at that. It was at the point for me where the show needed to end, much like Seinfeld wanted to end before becoming boring. The Sopranos was getting close to this point. The show, in the past few seasons, felt as if it was doing circles amongst the characters and refusing to set any closure with any of the topics/plots it brought up....it needed to end.
For those that are fans of the show, and have been avid watches since episode one, how do you feel? Are you happy with the way it ended? Do you feel it was left open enough, enough issues unresolved to justify a movie? Are you satisfied with the way it ended, do you feel complete?
I sat for the last 20 minutes biting my nails, waiting for the much anticipated ending to blow me away, when the screen faded to black and things still felt slightly unresolved, I felt ripped off, angry even. As I thought about it for the next hour, after the show had ended, sense started to be made of it. It was as if to say, "the show is over, but their lives will continue on as you have known them", and that was my resolve.
You will be greatly missed, as you were many a topic of conversation on monday mornings for me, and I thank you showing all of us that evil men have hearts too.
